Acadience® Reading Français Essential Workshop
Join us for a live, interactive, workshop experience!
The Acadience Reading Français Essential workshop is a 2-day (12 instructional hours) training designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the conceptual and empirical foundations of Acadience Reading Français as well as training in administration and scoring of the measures. This workshop is for teachers, administrators, instructional leaders, and all personnel who will conduct the assessments.
The Essential workshop uses a scaffolded and interactive, practice-driven training process in which participants learn the administration and scoring rules of each measure. For each measure, scoring examples are provided, and participants practice scoring for each of the rules, followed by large-group practice in timing and scoring the entire measure. Participants then work in triads to practice administering and scoring the measure three times, alternating between the role of assessor, student, and observer. Participants practice completing and providing feedback to one another using the Acadience Reading Français Assessment Accuracy Checklists.
Required materials for the Essential workshop include the Acadience Reading Français Essential workbook. Additional materials include a stopwatch and clipboard for paper/pencil assessment.
As a result of this training, participants will have knowledge and understanding of:
- The theoretical and research base for the measures (foundations)
- The essential skills assessed and the importance of each skill to reading competence
- The general guidelines for administering and scoring that apply to all measures
- How to administer and score each measure
- The organizational processes and considerations for conducting the assessments.

Are you interested in training Acadience Reading Français locally as a mentor?
The ability to train Acadience Reading Français is available as an endorsement to those already credentialed as an Acadience Reading K-6 Mentor.
To become an Acadience Reading K-6 Mentor:
- Complete an Acadience Reading K-6 Essential Workshop or equivalent,
- AND complete an Acadience Reading K-6 Data Interpretation Workshop.
- The registrant(s) must have assessed students using the Acadience Reading K-6 measures and reviewed and planned from data collected. We strongly suggest that the registrant will have given the Acadience Reading K-6 assessment to students at a minimum of two benchmark windows before attending.
- Attend a live, Acadience Reading K-6 Mentoring Workshop and completed New Mentor Orientation
Frequently Asked Questions
To be eligible to train Acadience Reading Français locally, one must already be an Acadience Reading K--6 Mentor. By completing the Acadience Reading Français Essential Workshop and the culminating assessment, you may submit your certificate to the Mentors' Network to have the endorsement added to your credentials.

An agenda and final details for the day of training will be emailed to verified registrants at a minimum of one week from the workshop.
For virtual workshops, this will include a link to register in Zoom for the day. Please be sure to do this before the morning of the workshop.
Yes! The Acadience Reading Français Essential Workshop is available in a variety of formats: asynchronous (self-paced online), live-virtual (public or locally contracted), and live-in person (public or locally contracted).
